What's Happening
April 24 (Thur): Kino Mesquite room at 1pm. DNA Skills workshop. Upload your DNA test results from AncestryDNA, FamilyTreeDNA. 23andMe, and/or Living DNA to MyHeritage, before the workshop. This type of workshop only works if everyone is using the same program. Look under the DNA download tab on how to do this. If you need help uploading, please contact me before the day of the workshop. There will not be any time to help with uploads at the workshop.
These are the topics we will be covering:
Basic site navigation of MyHeritage DNA - Looking at the topics under the different tabs.
Concentration on DNA matches: Navigating your DNA match list, Exploring your individual matches, Finding DNA matches outside of the US. (MyHeritage is the #1 DNA kit sold in Europe.)
Using the Leeds Method to identify groups of your DNA matches who probably share a common ancestor. This is helpful for identifying potential relationships when dealing with unknown parentage and cases of breaking through brickwalls. You will be using your DNA matches and shared matches.
Please RSVP so I will have enough handouts. I have prepared a few for the workshop. Susan Lafo - [email protected]. Hope to see you there. If the email is hidden, it's slqcgenclub @ gmail.com. No spaces before or after the @. Hope to see you there!
