What's Happening
Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 am, in the Kino Center Ocotillo Room - Bombs, Bases & Local History — No Joke, This One's Explosive! (Yes, We Know It's April 1st) Join us as the QC Genealogy Club welcomes Arizona’s Santa Cruz Valley Historical Society team. Led by our own QC resident Mary “Mac” Chernoski, they will talk about the Town of Sahuarita and the 27,000-acre Sahuarita Air Force Range. The Air Force Range, which operated from 1942 to the late 1970s, served as a training station for bomber crews during WWII and the Cold War. This site, which now contains hazardous, unexploded ordnance, is subject to ongoing environmental cleanup by the Army Corps of Engineers.
